Just a quick mend and post today pertaining to repairs and maintenance.
I wore Sew 205 to the International House Board of Management meeting last night. It is an exciting time for the organisation, with lots of clever heads around the table. The college was severely impacted by the 2011 Queensland floods but International House has recovered well and we had good discussions about strategic decisions for the future. It is great to be working with an astute team enabling young people to live, learn and lead with others from around the world.
Anyway, back to Sew it Again – this look is more about making running repairs rather than anything particularly creative. I fixed the elastic waistband on a wool-cashmere circle skirt I made years ago, washed it and it scrubbed up OK. I repaired the button holes by restitching the frayed edges on this op-shop-found jacket. The wool tights also needed repair – and I did this by adding a gusset (made from a t-shirt offcut) which worked well. The scarf is a special purchase – a felted purple wool made by Zoe Wall at Byron Bay which I bought several year ago. Off to Warwick now for workshop.
Hi…. I love this forum so much since I can get many new knowledge that I have never had before.
